Ronald GallihughALEXANDRIA, VA (JANUARY 29, 2020) – Digital Trusted Identity Services (DTIS) today announced the appointment of Ronald Gallihugh as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. Gallihugh is responsible for DTIS’s growth strategies in the aviation sector and delivering operational excellence on behalf of its customers and stakeholders.

Gallihugh joins DTIS following an 11-year tenure at the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), where he most recently served as Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator for Enterprise Support. In this role, Gallihugh led a team of over 1,900 employees, managed a budget of $2 billion, and provided direction and oversight for critical functions such as human capital, training and development, contracts and procurement, information technology, and security and administrative services.

Gallihugh played a leading role in driving forward some of TSA’s most complex and high-profile projects. These include developing TSA’s strategy for integrating next generation Computer Technology (CT) screening capabilities into existing TSA efforts, resolving cybersecurity policy issues related to the Credential Authentication Technology platform, and co-leading the creation of the Acquisition Program Management office, an organization with 150 personnel and $1.3 billion in funding. He also collaborated with other agencies in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as well as externally with partner agencies such as the Canadian Air Transport Security Administration, to ensure TSA could procure its equipment in the most efficient ways possible.

DTIS was founded by Daon, a global leader in biometric identity technology, and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), the world’s largest professional organization for airport executives, representing thousands of airport management personnel at nearly 875 airports and authorities as well as hundreds of companies and organizations that support these airports.

“Ron is a game-changer for DTIS,” said AAAE President and CEO, Todd Hauptli. “His years of experience operating in complex environments while demonstrating results will serve DTIS well and will allow us to offer cutting-edge solutions to the thorny operational challenges our members face.”

“I am excited to join such a dynamic team and am very pleased to be a part of its future. With so many dedicated and capable people, incredible technology, and a great collaboration with Daon and AAAE, I am confident that DTIS is poised for even greater success,” said Gallihugh. “I intend to focus on building upon DTIS’s incredibly strong foundation to deploy new capabilities for our current customers and introduce new customers to our capabilities.”
