See why many of the world’s strongest brands chose Daon to help them build lasting trust with their customers.

The Daon Approach to Continuous Identity Earns Frost & Sullivan Innovation Leadership Recognition

The firm's 2026 evaluation credits Daon for improving the reliability of identity across accuracy, orchestration, and governance.

Fairfax, Va. – Aug. 18, 2026 – Daon®, The Digital Identity Trust Company, has earned Frost & Sullivan’s 2026 Technology Innovation Leadership Recognition in the global biometric solutions industry for its ability to maintain trust across the full customer lifecycle. The recognition reflects a market shift in which identity must be verified continuously, not confirmed once and trusted thereafter.

“In a market where many vendors compete on workflow breadth or dataset scale, Daon’s stronger claim is that it improves the reliability of identity assurance itself, supported by a deep intellectual property portfolio with hundreds of patents,” said Tobias Folatelli, Research Analyst, Security at Frost & Sullivan.

Frost & Sullivan’s analysis found that verification, authentication, and fraud prevention can no longer operate as isolated events. The firm found that fraud increasingly occurs in the gaps between identity events, where synthetic identities, deepfakes, presentation attacks, and account takeover exploit the limits of one-time authentication. The report singled out the Daon Identity Continuity model as a particularly effective response to this challenge. It establishes a single, secure customer identity at onboarding and confirms it at each future point of risk, across authentication, account recovery, contact center interactions, workforce access, and step-up verification.

“What I appreciate most about this recognition is that it frames the real issue enterprises now face: maintaining a trusted identity across every interaction,” said Tom Grissen, CEO of Daon. “Knowing not only who or what is acting on an account at any moment, but that those actions are within the intent of the account holder is vital to modern identity security. That is what we built the Daon Identity Continuity model to do.”

A multi-signal foundation for continuous identity assurance

Frost & Sullivan credited how Daon combines multiple identity signals rather than relying on any single one. Face, voice, document, and device intelligence reinforce one another, with liveness detection and deepfake defense protecting each signal at the point of capture. Together they hold across every channel where identity matters, from mobile and web to the contact center, kiosk, and in person. The firm traced this strength to Daon’s foundation in biometric science, and distinguished it from providers that added these capabilities to workflow or compliance platforms after the fact.

The analysis also cited independent testing. In August 2025, the Daon facial image quality assessment algorithm ranked first of 57 in the NIST Face Analysis Technology Evaluation Quality test. In the critical 5% scenario, Daon achieved a false non-match rate of 0.0030. By identifying and removing poor-quality images, the Daon algorithm effectively improves the quality of face matching, liveness detection, watchlist screening, and fraud analysis.

Achieving ISO/IEC 42001 certification for its Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) was also identified as evidence of Daon’s mature approach to model governance, monitoring, risk assessment, and continuous improvement. The firm concluded that Daon combines AI performance with the governance discipline required for high-assurance biometric decisions.

Frost & Sullivan weighed real-world adoption as heavily as technology. Daon serves approximately 900 customers across six continents, secures more than 2 billion identities, and supports more than 250 million authentications each day. That reach spans financial services, telecommunications, government, healthcare, travel and hospitality, and other industries, across both consumer and workforce identity applications.
