Payments Source recently published an article that focused on MasterCard’s solution for biometric authentication, which includes Daon’s IdentityX® Platform as one of the authentication technologies behind MasterCard Identity Check™. John Adams, the writer, says that “Biometric authentication has been “replacing” passwords for a long time, but for the most part accounts still rely on remembered credentials than physical identifiers. This may change soon, as the enabling hardware and the business case for biometrics are closer to reality than ever before.”

Multi-factor authentication goes mainstream (Computerworld)

Computerworld published an article that focused on multi-factor authentic08ation and how it is making in-roads to mainstream financial services with a particular focus on biometrics. They profiled USAA, the first US bank to launch multi-factor, multi-modal mobile biometric authentication for its customers. USAA is a long standing Daon customer and together we’ve enrolled more than 1 million users (as of Oct. 15, 2015) in the first 10 months after launch.

One million use Dublin Airport U.S. preclearance facility in a year (International Airport Review)

Dublin Airport has welcomed its one millionth Customs and Border Protection (CBP) preclearance passenger in a ceremony marking the occasion. Selected passenger Philamena Linton was presented with a bottle of champagne on the 15 December shortly before boarding her Delta flight to New York. For the first time since the facility opened in 2010, a million people have been processed in a single year.
