There are hundreds of different biometric devices, using a range of different sensing technologies, each with their own unique characteristics. Daon has developed world-class expertise in evaluating and selecting the best technologies available, offering migration across varying devices and algorithms.

The results of Daon evaluations have shown huge accuracy and performance variances across the many biometric matching algorithms available. Some algorithms perform better with specific devices or in specific environments than others. Rather than restrict use to a single algorithm across all scenarios, DaonEngine provides biometric algorithm independence by allowing the most appropriate matching algorithm to be applied, without the user needing to re-enroll.
